Jared Darby, a previous industry mathematician, has been an educator since 2010, including four summers as an ALearn teacher. Jared currently teaches mathematics and advises student government at Mountain View High School. He also coordinates all student driven activities with the goal of creating more empathy and inclusivity on Mountain View’s diverse campus.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics from California State University, Monterey Bay, Jared worked as an Actuarial Analyst for Capital Insurance Group. In realizing that his happiness wasn’t at a desk, Jared pulled on his favorite dinosaur socks and headed off to combine mathematics and giving back to the world. He followed his dream of helping children and teens succeed in life by becoming a teacher.
Jared received his teaching credential in his hometown at Sacramento State University while teaching in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood where he found love in helping students find their path and rise to their potential.
