Spring Reception - April 27th, 2017
ALearn celebrated its annual Spring Reception, featuring keynote speaker, City of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, and a panel of ALearn students. Nearly 100 thought leaders from Silicon Valley’s tech and education sectors networked at the Los Altos Golf & Country Club on April 27th, 2017, to discuss closing Silicon Valley’s opportunity gap. The Mayor shared his education initiatives, stating ALearn is part of San Jose’s constellation of organizations to help lift all of our children and help them to succeed. He emphasized the need for after school programs and the necessity of providing additional guidance to get our students on the path to college. ALearn high school freshmen students shared their college goals, made possible by Alearn’s program.
