DREAM MAKERS DINNER - October 4th, 2017
ALearn’s Dream Makers Dinner is the annual fundraising event where 400 guests donate $500,000 so that youth from low-income underserved backgrounds can attend ALearn's free Math & College Readiness programs.
We honor outstanding program participants -- students, teachers, teaching assistants -- and outstanding local philanthropists, who support the education of low-income, underserved youth.
The 2017 Dream Makers Award honoree is C.S. Park, former Chairman and CEO of Maxtor Corporation and Seagate Board Member.
THE PROGRAM
ALearn students greet and mingle with guests. After dinner, ALearn shares a 4-minute impact video followed by award presentations and a student group providing entertainment. Santa Clara County Supervisor, Joe Simitian, then leads a fast-paced Fund-A-Need auction to raise money to support ALearn's programs, which are free to students from low-income, underserved backgrounds in our partner school districts.
