For Parents

ALearn offers students a unique opportunity to strengthen their academic skills, particularly in mathematics, to better prepare them for success in high school. Moreover, ALearn’s programs also help students learn more about college and how to prepare for it.

We believe that for a student to succeed in school, parents must take an active role in their education. Parent involvement is a key component of ALearn’s programs. This includes:

  • Signing up their child for the Math Acceleration Program, Girls Exploring Math (GEM) Program, Catalyst to High School Program, or Catalyst to High School Program
  • Attending the College Information Night to learn how they can support their child’s college aspirations
  • Meeting and interacting with their student’s teacher and teaching assistant
  • Allowing their child to participate in the College Campus Tour
  • Ensuring that their student attends all sessions of the after-school and summer programs and that they complete all assigned homework
  • Attending the End of Program Celebration to celebrate their child’s success

ALearn is a non-profit organization that does not charge any fees to participating students. Please consider enrolling your child in our programs and taking this important step towards their future.

If you want more information on how to get involved in your child's education, please contact Tim Mennuti, Director of Programs:
